Haunted GPS

Today’s tale comes from Colin Jamie, small Business Owner from Australia.

Only recently, while it was night, he found himself having to deliver something to and address he was not familiar with.

Upon getting into his vehicle he entered the address into his GPS and set off on his journey.

As he approached his destination he came to a traffic roundabout, which, in countries like Australia and New Zealand, is a raised circular area for cars to drive around in order to navigate busy intersections.

The GPS said to turn left at the third exit of the roundabout. However, Colin thinks he may have made a mistake, and exited on the fourth exit instead.

Colin continued to drive into the night until eventually there were no longer any more houses. The dark road was a vain that ran through a smothering of thick bush and trees.

Suddenly the GPS said, “You have arrived, please walk the rest of the way.” But Colin was in the middle of nowhere, surrounded only by forest and not a pathway in sight.

He decided to make a U turn right there and stopped to check his GPS, only to discover that the GPS had a completely different address to the destination he had entered.

It was then that Colin looked up at the tree in front of his car where he had stopped. There, nailed to the tree was a white cross, the type that families in this part of the world put up when a relative has died in a tragic motor vehicle accident.

I looked up at the tree in front of my car where I had stopped, there was a white cross nailed to the tree. The type that families put up when a relative died in a motor vehicle accident.

Wasting no time Colin got out of there, drove back to the intersection and then reset the correct address into his GPS. Finally finding the house that he was looking for he made his delivery and went home.

A few nights later Colin shared his experience with me on Quora, revealing that since that airy drive a presence had been waking him up at night; he felt a weight on his body as if the presence was on top of him. The first night the experience made him jump out of his bed three times as he yelled at it to leave his house and to leave him alone. But it returned every night for four nights.

By this stage Colin had been contemplating communicating with the thing, but I, along with another commenter warned him not to. I even told him to get a priest. But I am yet to hear from Colin again.

I do hope that the entity left him alone, and I hope he didn’t commune with it, opening himself up to more disturbing experiences. While I believe in ghosts and the spirits of the dead, I also believe in the demonic and their ability to deceive and to wreak havoc in our lives. I hope Colin hasn’t found this out the hard way.

But what about you? Have you ever gone somewhere only to find yourself in the wrong place with no explanation as to why? Has an unknown force been responsible for leading you to be in the wrong place at the right time? Please share your experience with me here at tellyourtalehere@gmail.com, and until next time, try using Google Maps instead!
