Today’s tale comes from Quora user Mark Mitram . When I announced to Quora that I was looking for true ghost stories that I could share on this channel Mark responded with the following tale, which he claimed would be short and boring, and yet, I would argue that often the short and boring stories are the most believable. Surely if a story wasn’t true it would tend toward hyperbole and indulge in too much excitement. But when someone offers a humble small tale about a random event, it does lend a sense of credibility to the tale. At least, to me it does. Some time ago Mark landed a job at the Promenade hotel, Branson Landing, as a room attendant. One day he was in a particular bedroom within the hotel with the door closed, changing pillowcases, a somewhat normal event for someone in his position, that is until unexpectedly the door opened completely, and by itself. At that moment Mark didn’t think too much of the occurrence, that is, until the door then closed completely, again

A Castle Haunting

Today’s tale is from Quora user, Wayne, who shared with me his brief encounter while visiting a castle in England on June 21st, 2009 at around 11:45 in the morning. Unfortunately, he did not disclose the exact location, but it could have been in any one of the 4000 or so castles scattered throughout England. In any case, Wayne, a computer scientist, found himself in the presence of 2 ladies dressed in medieval clothing. One sat at a small table while the other walked backwards and forwards. The room they were next to was dimly lit by candles and Wayne, who was carrying his son at the time, thought he had stumbled into a re-enactment of some kind, so he said to his boy, “We better get out of the way because they look quite busy.” Wayne then moved downstairs to find his wife and other son waiting for him below. Then the whole family made their way back up the stairs to find that not only were the 2 ladies gone but so were the candles and table, replaced only with darkness. It

In today’s tale we’ll be visiting the strange occurrences of a supernatural nature that have occurred in the 110-year-old St James Theatre in Wellington, New Zealand. I like sharing the tales of ghosts that are common to my own country because we are a young nation in the greater scheme of Western civilization. So often it is a given that we associate hauntings with centuries old castles and other ancient buildings; the edifices of whatever society left them to be occupied by generations of human interaction, whilst here in New Zealand the oldest European building is The Mission House at Keriker i, built only in 1822. Even New Zealand’s indigenous people, the Maori, made these lands their home as early as the 1250s, a time when England’s Windsor Castle was already close to 300 years old! And yet my country maintains its own rich traditions of hauntings and happenings of the bizarre, proving that the age of a thing is not necessarily a prerequisite for ghostly appearances…

Today's story comes from Quora user "Old Man Harker", a self-proclaimed skeptic of the supernatural until one day while living in Los Angeles a co-worker asked him if he would like to be her roommate due to her current roommate relocating to New York. Harker recounted that his co-worker and her friends were more than mildly attractive, and, being a red-blooded American male he immediately accepted the invitation. However the new living situation came with a disturbing twist; something supernatural was stalking the outgoing roommate... Today's tale is another of a more personal nature and involves a curious experience I had when I was in my early twenties involving an uncanny premonition. I was living in Brisbane Australia, sharing a house with two other people. For the purpose of this retelling we shall refer to them as Jack and Louise, as their real identities aren't necessary for the story. Both Jack and Louise owned dogs. Louise owned a beautiful female German Shepherd with strong protective maternal instincts, while Jack's dog was a slow elderly golden retriever who seldom reacted to much of anything. Today’s tale comes from youtuber @kaybrowning9573 who recently shared with me a bizarre personal encounter which took place in their home state of Utah in the United States in the summer of either 2018 or 19. I’m now going to tell the story in their own words. “I'd been wanting to go hiking for a few months and I'd decided I was going to conquer the peak nearest to a local ghost town. But had been putting it off for a while. Finally, one day I got off work surprisingly early and I decided today was the day. I let a friend know where I was going and I was off. I got as close to the mountain as I could before the juniper trees grew over the old road I was using so I pulled off the road and started hiking. The going was good and I was having fun. But it was a little hot, so I took off my vest and tied it on top of my pack. I took pictures and had a few breaks but I made good time. As I neared the peak I saw it was lined with rocks, big enough to prevent me from making it.
